Auslogics Disk Defrag is a program to defragment hard disks with the aim of improving the performance of the PC, which also includes optimization algorithms, such as: to locate system files in the disk areas that are faster to access, to defragment free spaces, and so on.
The action of saving and deleting files, and also of installing and uninstalling programs, mean that with time there are remaining holes that are being used to store new files, which are going to be broken. That makes access to data slower, and therefore it is necessary to resort to tools like this, which correct that fragmentation of files.
First, Disk Defrag performs an analysis and, after finishing it, shows the files that are fragmented, as well as the detail of the distribution of these in different clusters. You have the option to defragment the entire disk or any particular partition; but you also have the possibility to defragment individual files or certain folders, which consumes less time.
The defragmentation process can be run manually to act in real time (taking up most of the resources) or in the background while doing other things on the computer; or it can be automated, with the possibility of, for example, initiating the process after a few minutes of inactivity. It can be set to turn off the PC once the processing is finished.
The application offers, before starting with the process, the option to check possible disk errors and to proceed to their repair, avoiding that they remain corrupted files after the end of the defragmentation.
Auslogics Disk Defrag 220.127.116.11 is the latest version, updated in April 2017, which is available in Spanish for free download. Supports FAT 16/32 and NTFS file systems; works with Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2003 and 2008 in both 32-bit and 64-bit.
